A body found inside a West Side garbage bin last Thursday has been identified as that of a man from north suburban Wheeling.
The body was discovered about 4 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Avers, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
The man has now been identified as Michael T. Grunde, 25, of the 900 block of Honeysuckle Drive in Wheeling, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The cause and manner of death have not been determined, as autopsy results were inconclusive pending further testing, according to the medical examiner’s office.
A death investigation is underway by Chicago Police.
