A woman was critically injured Monday afternoon when she was struck by a vehicle in the Chinatown neighborhood.
The 18-year-old pedestrian was struck by the vehicle about 1 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.
She was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, Sweeney said.
The 84-year-old driver, of Richton Park, was ticketed for failing to exercise due care for a pedestrian in the roadway, according to police. He will appear in traffic court.
