Monthslong lane closings are set to start early Monday on Wacker Drive at Lake Shore Drive for bridge repair work.

The work is to begin at 2 a.m. Monday and continue through June.

Traffic on the intermediate level of Wacker Drive will be reduced to two lanes in both directions, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation, and all levels of Wacker Drive will be cut to one lane in each direction starting March 21.

The city agency suggested that, as a alternative route, drivers take Michigan Avenue and then Grand Avenue or Randolph Street to get to Lake Shore Drive.
