A man who was killed when a building fire spread to a recreational vehicle Friday morning on the West Side remains unidentified.

About 7:05 a.m., officers responding to a building on fire in the 4500 block of West Fulton saw that the fire had spread to a nearby car and RV, police said.

The body of a man was discovered inside the RV, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

He remains unidentified as of Monday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy found he died of smoke and soot inhalation and ruled his death an accident.

No other injuries were reported, police said.
