A man was shot Saturday evening in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

At 7:53 p.m., the 25-year-old was in the hallway of a two-flat building in the 1600 lock of North Mason when an unidentified person entered and started shooting, Chicago Police said.

The man suffered gunshot wound to the abdomen and took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said. His condition had stabilized.
