This You Gotta See: AFC slugfests, Bulls-Clippers and college football’s playoff selections

Here’s one guess: No. 1 Ohio State vs. No. 4 Utah in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, and No. 2 LSU vs. No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. Because sending the Western semifinalist to the South and the Southern semifinalists to the West would just be so totally college football.

SUN 8

College Football Playoff Selection Show (11 a.m., ESPN): We’ll have to wait and see how it shakes out, but here’s one guess: No. 1 Ohio State vs. No. 4 Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and No. 2 LSU vs. No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. Because sending the semifinalists that are closer to Glendale to Atlanta and the semifinalists that are closer to Atlanta to Glendale would just be so totally college football.

Ravens at Bills (noon, Ch. 2): Lamar Jackson has the red-hot Ravens on an eight-game winning streak. Josh Allen and the surging Bills, meanwhile, have fans in western New York as geeked as they’ve been since losing the next Super Bowl was a foregone conclusion.

Chiefs at Patriots (3:25 p.m., Ch. 2): Now this is what we call a CBS doubleheader. A rematch of the AFC Championship Game last season? Yeah, we’ll bite.

MON 9

Raptors at Bulls (7 p.m., NBCSCH): The last time the champs were in town was for the Bulls’ home opener, which turned into a 108-84 Raptors romp. In all fairness to our guys, they might not have been aware yet that Kawhi Leonard had moved to Los Angeles.

Giants at Eagles (7:15 p.m., ESPN): There’s a word for a matchup of sub-.500 teams like these two, and that word is ‘‘football.’’ Watch away, people.

TUE 10

Blackhawks at Golden Knights (9 p.m., NBCSCH): A crazy thing happened the last time these teams squared off four weeks ago at T-Mobile Arena. Are you ready for this? The Hawks won. Their next ‘‘W’’ against the Knights will be their second in, like, ever.

WED 11

Michigan at Illinois (8 p.m., BTN): It’s the Big Ten home opener for the Illini, who still are searching for answers under third-year coach Brad Underwood. Here’s a clue, in case it helps: Come out ready to play, guys.

FRI 13

Wolves at Admirals (7 p.m., Ch. 50): This is the front end of a two-night home-and-home run-in with the first-place Admirals, the Wolves’ Amtrak Series rivals. After all these years, do these teams not realize only 80 miles separates their respective arenas? It’s probably easier just to drive.

SAT 14

UIC at DePaul (1 p.m., FS1): Are you watching the Blue Demons yet? If not, then wake up and start. Morgan Park alum Charlie Moore, a transfer from Kansas, is a game-changer at point guard who has long-forgotten DePaul ready to bust into the Top 25. In case that sort of thing, you know, interests you.

Army vs. Navy (2 p.m., Ch. 2): There’s passion and pageantry galore, and the football itself — with seven of the last eight games decided by a single score — is riveting. For the next three hours, your country needs you. (Flipping back to the DePaul game once or twice is your constitutional right.)

Clippers at Bulls (7 p.m., NBCSCH): Hey, it’s that Kawhi Leonard guy again. Although the Clippers do have a game in Minnesota the night before, and one never knows when ‘‘load management’’ will rear its ugly head.
