American Pharoah became the first horse since 1978 to win the Triple Crown, so of course the first question on everyone’s mind is this: Could he beat Secretariat?

American Pharoah was the first horse to pull off the feat in a long time, but recency bias tends to make people think he was the best ever. He’s not, and it’s perfectly OK that he’s not.

But for the sake of fun, the Wall Street Journal created a split screen video of the 1973 Belmont Stakes alongside the 2015 version of the race from Saturday.

It’s worth watching, if only to enjoy two horses at the peak of their greatness.
