Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo passed Jimmy Ryan on the all-time Cubs home run list with his 100th career home run. Rizzo hit his 29th home run of the season in the first inning against St. Louis Cardinals ace Michael Wacha.

Rizzo’s two-run home run also gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead against the Cardinals and one of the best pitchers in the National league. Wacha is 15-4 with a 2.99 ERA and 135 strikeouts this season.

St. Louis is currently 7.5 games ahead of the Cubs in the National League Central.
