Bears kicker Robbie Gould missed practice Tuesday with what the team called a sore quad.

“Robbie came up with a … was sore this morning,” coach Marc Trestman said. “So we just rested him today. We’ll see where he is like with the other guys who didn’t practice today.

“We’ll just see where he is (Wednesday).”

Punter Pat O’Donnell attempted field goals and kickoffs in his place. Asked whether the Bears needed a better contingency plan, Trestman said it was a front-office decision.

However, he didn’t sound too concerned about Gould.

“Pat practiced today,” he said. “So I’ll leave it at that. He practiced today, and again, we’re hopeful. We’ll see where Robbie is tomorrow.”

The rookie from Miami said kicking was “no new thing for me,” having kicked in college.

“It’s a different motion, yeah, definitely kicking field goals versus punting,” he said. “Robbie is definitely a guy that you don’t want to compete with. He’s one of the best. He’ll be OK. He’ll be ready to go.”

Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) did not practice, either.

“We just kept him out today again, just for precautionary reasons,” Trestman said. “As with everybody, we’ve just got to see. We’ve got a little more time for this game. We’ll see where we are tomorrow.”

Chris Conte, who suffered an eye injury Thursday, returned to practice for the first time. he was limited
