Zach Miller broke his right foot Sunday, the Bears said, and figures to be lost for the season.

The tight end left the locker room in a walking boot. He suffered the injury toward the end of the second quarter, slamming his helmet on the sideline in frustration. He went to the locker room in the half’s final seconds and did not return.

Miller had three catches for 61 yards against the Giants, scoring on a 19-yard pass on the Bears’ first drive of the game. Miller has 44 catches for 425 yards this season.

The Bears were already down one skill position stud, losing receiver Alshon Jeffery for four weeks because of a PED suspension announced Monday.

“Zach, he started off hot,” quarterback Jay Cutler said. “We were getting him matched up against some linebackers, which we felt pretty strong about doing in this game. To not to have those two guys is difficult.”

Coach John Fox said Miller knew immediately.

“He has a similar injury as he had on his other foot,” Fox said. “I think he kind of knew from experience.”
