SHARE Bears rule out Alshon Jeffery for second preseason game against Colts

Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery has dealt with a calf strain for the past two weeks and missed the first preseason game against the Miami Dolphins. Jeffery will be sidelined for the second consecutive preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday.

Jeffery is no longer in a walking boot, but there’s no indication when the veteran receiver will return to the field.

Other Bears inactives include corner Tracey Porter, tight end Chris Pantale and offensive tackle Jason Weaver. But Bears fans will be able to see linebackers Willie Young and Lamarr Houston for the first time on Saturday.

Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson are expected to be the starting receivers against the Colts.
