The day after rookie Kyle Schwarber got his bottle-dodging initiation into the Cubs-Sox rivalry, he still had not seen video of the aluminum bottle sailing over his head, onto the field, as he fielded a double into the left-field corner Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Field.

But he knows what he’ll do next time he starts in left on the South Side:

“Duck.”

Schwarber, who said he was told by ballpark security that the bottle tosser had been arrested, calmly retrieved the bottle after the incident and after the game joked about the fan wasting the beer that remained in the bottle.

“It was funny. I laughed,” Schwarber said. “But the umpire didn’t laugh.”

Bottom line: “I guess that’s what this series is all about,” he said.
