Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade were once tight teammates on the Bulls, but that relationship has its boundaries — as Butler learned in a very public way this week.

Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, posted a racy photo Thursday on Instagram that prompted an all-caps response from Butler that spoke volumes: “WELL DAMN!”

Probably not the best decision when discussing a former co-worker’s wife. Wade wasted little time with his reply: “MINE!”

The discussion didn’t end there.

After Butler posted a video on his own account and wrote: “The good, the bad, and the ugly” on his post, Wade weighed in, posting: “Put well damn in caps on my wife photo again and you’re gonna see what the good, the bad and the ugly is like.”

Butler quickly retreated, posting, “well that escalated quickly,” before saying, “point noted.”

Butler’s late posts indicated he still planned to attend a barbecue with Wade and maybe even Union.
