Jabari Parker following Derrick Rose’s oft-injured footsteps

There have arguably been no two more recruited basketball players coming out of Chicago than Derrick Rose and Jabari Parker. The two helped keep Simeon High School on a national attention level and are among the most exciting players in the NBA.

But that’s not all they have in common. Neither Chicago prep star can stay healthy. Both Parker and Rose are once again injured, Parker with a sprained foot and Rose with a sprained ankle.

Parker’s injury came Saturday against the Cavaliers. The young Bucks star will miss the next three games with the injury. He had missed games at the start of the year while recovering from a knee injury that ended his 2014 season.

Rose’s injury came just two days later, during the Bulls’ Monday night game against the Pacers. In the fourth quarter with the Bulls winning, Rose rolled his ankle while driving to the basket. He is listed as day-to-day with his status in the air for Wednesday’s game in Phoenix.

Neither star is expected to be hindered much in the long run by their injuries. But for now, the two Simeon stars will have to fight the notion that they are always on the verge of another injury.
