Jeremy Langford already has a song written about him

After just two games as the Bears’ starting running back, Jeremy Langford already has a song written about him.

The lyrics were composed by Bears owner Pat McCaskey, and are meant to be sung to the tune of Johnny Preston’s “Running Bear.”

On the brink of distinction stood Jeremy, Chicago Bear
On the other side of the football stood opponents with fierce stares
Scoring touchdowns was his goal, such a thrilling sight to see
Since his blockers played together, the Bears obtained victory

Jeremy loves playing football
With a love as big as the sky
Jeremy loves playing football
With a love that couldn’t die

He can reach the end zone often because he works out every day
He can help the Bears win often because running is his forte
In the daylight we can see his practice habits on the field
He will gain much total yardage and we know he will not yield

Jeremy loves playing football
With a love as big as the sky
Jeremy loves playing football
With a love that couldn’t die

Langford is coming off a pair of impressive performances. Sunday, the former fourth-round pick joined Walter Payton and Gale Sayers as the only Bears running backs with 100 receiving yards, a touchdown catch and a touchdown run in same game.

He has 324 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in victories over San Diego and St. Louis.
