Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville is expected to be a part of Team Canada’s coaching staff at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

According to TSN, Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock will be named head coach and Quenneville will be on as an assistant.

Now in his eighth season with the Blackhawks, Quenneville has won three Stanley Cups and compiled a 322-158 record.

Quenneville, an Ontario native, is expected to replace Blues coach Ken Hitchcock on the staff, according to NBC.

The Blackhawks coach was a candidate for the head job but Babcock was the logical choice, having led Canada to a gold medal in each of the past two Winter Olympics.

The 2016 tournament will be the first NHL-sanctioned World Cup since 2004. The tournament will be held from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1 in Toronto.
