DETROIT — Updates from the Bears’ game at the Lions:

It’s mercifully over. Read the game story here.

• • •

The Bears scored an offensive touchdown! Mitch Trubisky throws a swing pass to Benny Cunningham for a 9-yard score with 2:32 to play. Lions, 20-10.

• • •

Josh Sitton left the game after hurting his ankle, sending Bradley Sowell to left guard and Hroniss Grasu to center.

• • •

Mitch Trubisky throws an interception on third down, something he hadn’t done all year. I reminded him of that Tuesday, and he seemed genuinely annoyed I might have jinxed him. I did.

• • •

The Bears offense, having finally done some damage, will have first-and-goal at the 8 when the fourth quarter begins.

• • •

Tom Compton (concussion protocol) has been replaced at right guard by Bradley Sowell after the former was injured during a screen pass.

• • •

Bears get burned on another third down — this time on an Eric Ebron touchdown catch. The rout is on. Lions 20, Bears 3.

• • •

Mitch Trubisky throws his first pick in three games, sailing Kendall Wright while he rolled left. Darius Slay tiptoed along the sideline for the catch, and whatever momentum the Bears took into the locker room is dead. Trubisky’s footwork has been inconsistent all day — this wasn’t the first ball he left high, either.

• • •

Mike Nugent nails the 41-yard field goal try with 2 seconds left in the first half. Bears get the ball to start the second. Lions 13, Bears 3.

• • •

This sounds like something the Bears would do: With 12 seconds left, running out the clock before halftime, Lions running back Theo Riddick fumbled the ball away to Bears cornerback Sherrick McManis. Bears in business for at least a field goal.

• • •

• • •

Bears outside linebacker Pernell McPhee is doubtful to return after re-injuring the shoulder injury that had cost him the previous two games. McPhee sniffed out a screen pass and made the tackle in the second quarter, but came off the field and immediately met with team doctors. McPhee hurt his shoulder in the first drive of the 49ers game, and was inactive against the Bengals.

• • •

Tarik Cohen’s 90-yard kick return was negated by DeAndre Houston-Carson’s holding call. I wrote this week about all the yards Cohen has gained this year that have come back because his teammates screwed up.

• • •

Something you’ll never see the Bears try: a risk. On third-and-18, Matthew Stafford escaped the pocket and threw an absolute prayer down the right sideline. Marvin Jones caught. Absolutely brutal showing by the Bears’ secondary, which already had two penalties on third down that kept drives alive.

• • •

Lions have run 21 plays this game. The Bears? Seven.

• • •

Prater field goal No. 2: a 31-yarder. Bears were lucky to get off the field without a touchdown there. Lions 6, Bears 0.

• • •

Safety Chris Prosinski has been ruled out for the game with a concussion.

• • •

Matt Prater, last seen beating the Bears with field goals, kicks a 48-yarder to cap a 47-yard drive that featured 15 penalty yards. Lions 3, Bears 0.

• • •

Safety Chris Prosinski, who was injured on the Lions’ third-down conversion, went straight to the locker room. Second-year safety Deon Bush takes is place. Worth noting: the Bears made Deiondre’ Hall a healthy scratch.

• • •

Welcome to the game, Eddie Goldman. The defensive tackle gets the start after battling a hip injury, and gets flagged after the first play for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The Bears won ANOTHER coin toss. They’ve won 17 of their last 20 if you count overtime (totally) and preseason games (ehhh).

Pregame predictions:

Tight end Adam Shaheen (chest) and safety Adrian Amos (hamstring) will not play, but Bears starters Pernell McPhee and Eddie Goldman will.
