Mapping out the Bears and Packers rivalry

SHARE Mapping out the Bears and Packers rivalry

The rivalry between the Bears and Green Bay Packers is one of the best in all of sports. Bears fans wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a cheese head, and Packers fans probably haven’t bought that new Kevin White jersey yet.

For the most part, their team colors give fans away, but it’s much more difficult to figure out where those fans come from. Most would believe the state line is the divider, but that’s not the reality. The folks at Digital Third Coast decided to map out where exactly the fandom border is.

The numbers aren’t all in yet, and they are still taking new responses. While most tend to think of the rivalry only between Illinois and Wisconsin, it’s clear from the map that Bears fans spill well into Northwest Indiana. Not even the Colts play over the last decade could break that stronghold.
