2018 NHL Draft: Complete results for Round 1

The 2018 NHL Draft kicked off with the first round at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Friday night. There were be 31 picks announced before things closed down prior to Rounds 2-7 on Saturday.

The Sabres hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft after winning the lottery in May. They had already said publicly that they’re going to draft Rasmus Dahlin, so it was all but a formality to announce his name. Dahlin should be in Buffalo in short order.

The Blackhawks used their two picks to focus on defense. The team passed on the likes of Oliver Wahlstrom and Evan Bouchard with the No. 8 overall pick in favor of defenseman Adam Boqvist, a high-upside 17-year-old out of Sweden. The Hawks then used the No. 27 overall pick on defenseman Nicolas Beaudin, who was reported by our Mark Lazerus as a target in that spot.
