Coming into the season, the Wildcats weren’t expected to do much in the Big10 after consecutive 5-7 seasons. While a win against a top-25 school is always a plus for a program, it isn’t new to the NU program.
Last year, NU beat two top-20 teams in Wisconsin and Notre Dame but still failed to qualify for a bowl game.
Northwestern takes on Eastern Illinois at home Sep. 12 for its next game.
