Midway through the third quarter it looked like it would be a special night for the Bulls and Pau Gasol at the United Center. However, neither could close in the fourth quarter as the Bulls lost 103-101 to the Suns.
Statistically, Gasol finished with a strong night. With 22-points and 10-rebounds, Gasol had his sixth double-double in his last seven games. Had he given out four more assists, he’d have been the fifth player in the last 10 years to tally a triple-double at this stage of his career.
Gasol with 18 pts, 9 reb, 6 ast. Only 4 players (Kobe, Duncan, Pierce, Kidd) have had a triple double after game 1000 in the last 10 years.

However, Gasol was held scoreless over a little more than the final two minutes of the game, only scoring four points in the fourth quarter total.
After the game, Gasol was one of many Bulls players to be critical of their play in the fourth quarter.
Gasol."We should look in the mirror and see what we;re doing and what we want to do going forward because this isn't going to cut it".

Over Gasol’s stretch of double-doubles the Bulls have gone 3-4, including two double-digit losses.
