After being out of football for a year, former Bears general manager Phil Emery is back working. The Falcons have hired Emery as a national scout.

Emery was the Bears’ GM for a tumultuous three seasons, which saw him fire coach Lovie Smith and hire Marc Trestman.

Before coming to the Bears in 2012, Emery had worked 14 years as a scout for the Chiefs, Falcons and Bears.
