With the newly named MVP and a win in Game 1, the Sky looked primed for a deep run through the playoffs. However, their season was ended after a Game 3 loss to the Indiana Fever Monday night, 100-89.

To her credit, Sky star Elena Della Donne didn’t shy away from the big stage. The MVP put up 40 points, 13 more than the next highest scorer for either team in the game.

It was an offensive onslaught for both teams. Neither team had scored more than 89 in a game in either of their first two games.

The Sky’s inability to stop the Fever was their clear downfall. In the third quarter, as the Fever started to pull away, things got physical.

In the fourth quarter, the Sky was able to mount a near comeback, lead by Delle Donne and her big-play ability.

However, it proved inconsequential, as Chicago failed to stop the Fever down the stretch. With the loss, the Sky missed out to repeat as Eastern Conference champs and return to the WNBA Finals.
