One of the Bears’ needs has been filled, Friday, as they announce the latest addition to their offensive coaching staff. Former Rutgers offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ben McDaniels will join the team for the 2016 season.

McDaniels is the younger brother of former Broncos head coach and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

From Sports Illustrated:

It’s a return to the NFL for McDaniels, who was an offensive assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012–13 and the Denver Broncos’ quarterbacks coach in ’10 after a year as an offensive assistant for the Broncos.

During his time in the NFL, McDaniels worked with Mike Glennon in Tampa Bay and Tim Tebow in Denver.

After the departure of Adam Gase, John Fox has promoted former quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains to offensive coordinator. Dave Ragone was named the team’s quarterbacks coach, but there is still an opening for the wide receivers coach.
