More than 94,000 gamblers placed $2 win bets on American Pharoah on Saturday at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack, and more than 90,000 of them left their winning tickets uncashed, according to ESPN.

Belmont spokesman John Durso Jr. told ESPN that 94,128 bettors placed $2 bets on American Pharoah to win the Belmont Stakes and Triple Crown. Of those bets, 90,237 have gone uncashed.

New York bettors may have kept the tickets as a souvenir of the historic day. Surely there are many more across the country who did the same at racetracks and OTBs.

According to the ESPN report, the value of the uncashed New York tickets is $315,829.

But, at least one savvy bettor is cashing in even more on the open market, where an uncashed ticket has gone up in value by more than 550 percent. Uncashed $2 win tickets are selling for $23 on ebay right now, and 104 have been sold at that price.
