White Sox add former ASU coach to minor league staff

The White Sox are maintaining stability in their player development staff for the 2015 season, keeping most personnel in place.

Joel Skinner will return for his fourth season as manager at Class AAA Charlotte, Julio Vinas is back at AA Birmingham for his third year and Mike Gellinger returns for a second year with the Arizona Rookie League White Sox. Tommy Thompson moves back for his third stint with Class A Kannapolis after managing Class A Winston-Salem in 2014. Thompson was at Kannapolis in 2011 and 2013.

Tim Esmay, head coach at Arizona State the past five seasons, will manage at Class A Winston-Salem and Cole Armstrong, the hitting coach with the AZL White Sox the past five seasons and a former Sox prospect, takes over as manager at Advanced Rookie Great Falls.

Nick Capra is entering his fourth season as director of player development. Kirk Champion is back as field coordinator for the fourth consecutive season.
