The White Sox are going with 13 pitchers on their postseason roster, the team announced a couple of hours before playing the Oakland Athletics in Game 1 of the Wild Card series.

One notable pitcher left off is right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, who struggled in his final appearance Sunday against the Cubs, capping a disappointing season. Outfielder/infielder Leury Garcia and catcher Zack Collins, who did not finish the season with the team, are on the roster. Garcia has been on the injured list after a thumb injury sustained in the second week of August.

Veteran left-hander Gio Gonzalez, who left a relief appearance Sunday with a sore shoulder, is not on the roster, as expected.

Among the 13 pitchers is left-hander Garrett Crochet, who made five scoreless appearances after getting called up from the team’s training facility in Schaumburg. Crochet was drafted with the 11th overall pick in June and has been close to unhittable with a 100-101 mph fastball.

Having a third catcher in Collins may be an indication of that manager Rick Renteria plans to use James McCann and Yasmani Grandal at DH instead of Edwin Encarnacion, who is batting .157/.250/.377.

Here is the roster:

Right-handed pitchers (8): Dylan Cease, Alex Colomé, Jimmy Cordero, Dane Dunning, Matt Foster, Lucas Giolito, Codi Heuer, Evan Marshall

Left-handers (5): Aaron Bummer, Garrett Crochet, Jace Fry, Dallas Keuchel, Carlos Rodón

Catchers (3): Zack Collins, Yasmani Grandal, James McCann

Infielders (6): José Abreu, Tim Anderson, Leury García, Nick Madrigal, Yoán Moncada, Yolmer Sánchez

Outfielders (5): Jarrod Dyson, Adam Engel, Eloy Jiménez, Nomar Mazara, Luis Robert

DH (1): Edwin Encarnación
