2024 WNBA Free Agent Tracker

WNBA free agency begins on Jan. 21, marking the first day players and teams can begin contract negotiations. Certain teams have already extended core designations on some of the league’s top unrestricted free agents. The New York Liberty used the core tag on reigning MVP Breanna Stewart on Jan. 11 and the Washington Mystics cored Elena Delle Donne on Jan. 13. While these tags limit both players ability to negotiate with other teams, it doesn’t prevent a sign and trade from happening. Stewart has made it clear she will be back with the Liberty in 2024, but Delle Donne’s future is less certain according to reports that the two-time MVP is expected move on from the Mystics.

Either way, this free agency period is expected to be another blockbuster with players like Skylar Diggins-Smith, Jonquel Jones and Nneka Ogwumike all hitting the market. We’ve provided our insight on what’s expected for the Sky’s free agents and who the new regime is likely to make a play for, now we’ll bring you regular updates of all free-agent moves across the league. For the second year the Sun-Times WNBA tracker will monitor moves across all 12 WNBA teams as news is announced. Our free-agent list and salary figures used below were gathered via HerHoopStats.com.
