The suspect used force to try and take someone’s purse in two cases, police said.

Police are warning South Side residents of a pair of robberies reported recently in Chatham.

In both cases, the suspect used force to try and steal someone’s purse, Chicago police said in a community alert. The robber got away with a purse in one incident.

A robbery happened at 12:43 p.m. Oct. 24 in the 800 block of East 80th Street, police said. Another took place at 12:30 p.m. the next day in the 8000 block of South Drexel Avenue.

The suspect is described as a male standing about 5-foot-3 and weighing 140-150 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
