Westbound lanes of Interstate 290 just before Interstate 390 were closed around 8 a.m. and reopened about 40 minutes later, Illinois state police said.
The 35-year-old was sitting in a vehicle in the 1600 block of South Trumbull Avenue Sunday when he was shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later died.

The 12 and 14-year-old boys were in a car in the 7800 block of South Escanaba Avenue about 1:43 p.m. when a black sedan started to chase them and someone in the vehicle fired shots at them, police said. One boy is hospitalized in serious condition; the other in good condition.

Tomica Goodwyn, 50, was found unresponsive with multiple stab wounds in a home in the 8100 block of South Cornell Avenue on Friday, police said. Her death has been ruled a homicide. A man was found with a gunshot wound. His death has been ruled a suicide.
