Man dies days after Little Village shooting

A man who was shot last week in Little Village on the Southwest Side has died from his injuries.

Luis Angel Gonzalez, 29, was pronounced dead at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was shot in the head and leg after walking into an alley about 6:15 a.m. June 20 in the 2800 block of St. Louis Avenue, Chicago police said.

Gonzales was among the 104 gun violence victims across the city over Father’s Day weekend.

Autopsy results released Thursday found he died of complications from his injuries and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Four detectives are investigating.
