Man killed in attempted robbery in South Chicago

Someone shot at the 19-year-old man after approaching his vehicle and demanding his property, Chicago police said.

The 13-year-old was shot in the abdomen.

A 19-year-old man was killed Saturday after two people tried to rob him in South Chicago.

Donavon Allen was in a vehicle about 1:10 p.m in the 8300 block of South Paxton Avenue when two males walked up and demanded his property, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

One of the suspects then shot him in the back, authorities said. He was taken to Trinity Hospital and pronounced dead.

Area South detectives are investigating.
