A man died after he was found with a bullet in his chest Sunday morning in the Galewood neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

At 3:51 a.m., 23-year-old Christopher Marco Salinas was spotted lying on the front porch of a home in the 2100 block of North Mulligan, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Salinas was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with a bullet in his chest, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at 4:33 a.m.

An autopsy Monday found he died of the gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
