A boy was killed and another was wounded late Saturday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

They were walking in an alley shortly after 5 p.m. in the 5100 block of West Huron when someone opened fire, police said.

Jaheim Wilson, 16, of Austin, was shot in the head, leg and hand and pronounced dead on the scene, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The other boy, 13, was shot in the left thigh. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
