The Chicago Sun-Times offers a paid, full-time summer reporting 10-week internship to a college junior, senior or recent college graduate who is a person of color.
Additionally, the Sun-Times offers a small number of paid and unpaid newsroom internships over the summer, and part-time for the spring and fall semesters, in the following departments: metro, visual, audience/social media and sports.
- Applicants must be a college junior or senior or graduate student within six months of graduation.
- For unpaid internship positions, applicants must provide a letter showing they are working for college credit.
- Applicants must have had at least one internship at a professional daily newspaper, or show equivalent experience working as a freelance journalist as little training is provided.
Summer internships: January 15 of the summer before the internship
Fall internships: April 15 of the autumn before the fall semester
Spring internships: August 15 of the spring before the spring semester
