BOYS SOCCER

Huntley 2, Jefferson 1: Mario Vergara and Angel Sanchez each had a goal in the Red Raiders’ win over Jefferson in the Huntley Class 3A regional finals. Michael Parks had five saves as Huntley improves to 9-12-6.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Woodstock: Jake Hoffert led Yorkville to first-place at the Woodstock Class 2A regional. Hoffert was the race’s winner, finishing at 15:43, and the Foxes ended with 49 points. Kaneland finished fifth with 125 points to qualify for sectionals, and Hampshire’s Jacob Oury’s 16:51 allowed him to make the cut as well.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Aurora Christian: Becca Wert, with a time of 18:48, led Aurora Christian as the individual champion of the race at the Aurora Christian Class 1A regionals. With Wert’s No. 1 spot, Aurora Christian claimed fourth overall with 112 points. The Lions peaked ahead at third with 80. Megan Kremer of St. Edward was the top advancing individual with a time of 19:56, and St. Edward’s Ashley Lopez also advanced finishing at 22:04.
