The tactics used are becoming common when cases involve progressive prosecutors. I worry it will serve as a deterrent to the next generation of prosecutors eager to fight for critical reforms.
The same communities that were hit hardest by COVID-19 are the communities that have been ravaged by institutional racism in housing, education, economic investment and our justice system.
It is all too convenient to focus on the looters and not on the voices of protesters. I challenge you to listen harder.
