Drivers on Interstate 70 in Missouri got a rude awakening Monday morning, when a stretch of the interstate was shut down while police removed a fully-clothed mannequin wearing a Barack Obama mask that was left hanging from a bridge overpass.
The Kansas City Star reports the incident was reported at approximately 5:30 a.m.
Deputies, while removing the effigy from the overpass, saw what they believed was an explosive device attached to it, which resulted in the bomb squad being called out, in addition to all lanes of I-70 being shut down.
Crews, using a robot, removed the dummy and took it into a nearby field where it was x-rayed for possible explosives, Fox4KC.com reports.
Authorities are working to determine if the effigy was a legitimate threat against Obama.
