Man shot in vehicle on South Side

A man was shot while riding in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon on the South Side near the border of the Englewood and Auburn Gresham neighborhoods.

The 19-year-old was the passenger in a vehicle in the 7500 block of South May about 1:30 p.m. when a male fired shots, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The man was shot in the ankle and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he is listed in good condition, Sweeney said.
