Man critically injured in Woodlawn shooting

A man was critically injured in a shooting Thursday morning in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 6400 block of South King Drive at 9:20 a.m., police said.

The 22-year-old was shot in the face and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.

According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, the shooting happened in a store on that block.

Police could not immediately provide details on the circumstances.
