Teen shot in Uptown

A 17-year-old boy was shot Wednesday night in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

About 9:10 p.m., the boy was standing outside in the 4600 block of North Sheridan when a group of people fired shots at him, striking him in the shoulder, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

The teen self-transported himself to Thorek Hospital, where he is in good condition, Gaines said.
