Two hurt in separate Galewood shootings

Two men were shot at the same time in separate incidents Tuesday afternoon in the Galewood neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A 19-year-old man told police he was in the 2200 block of North Nagle about 4:45 p.m. when a white SUV stopped and a passenger in the back seat fired shots, police said.

He took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park with a gunshot wound to the hip, police said. His condition had since stabilized.

About the same time, an 18-year-old man was standing in the 1600 block of North Merrimac when someone opened fire from across the street, striking him in the leg, police said.

He took himself to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center but was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.
