Man shot to death in West Garfield Park

A man was shot to death Monday morning in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Doug A. Chambliss, 33, was outside in the 700 block of South Karlov — the same block he lived on — at 9:07 a.m. when two males walked up and fired shots, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The males ran off after the shooting, police said.

Chambliss was shot in the back and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
