Bank robbed in Morgan Park

A U.S. Bank branch was robbed Saturday morning in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 10:40 a.m., a man walked into the U.S. Bank branch at 11150 S. Western Ave. and handed a note to the teller, demanding money, authorities said.

The robber then took an unknown amount of cash and ran out of the bank, police said.

He is described as a black man, thought to be in his 50s, standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, with brown eyes and facial hair, according to the FBI. He was wearing a black skull cap and a black puffy jacket down to his knees.

No weapon was shown during the robbery and no one was injured, police said.
