Marriott Theatre announces 2015 lineup

The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire has announced the lineup for its 2015 season, which also happens to be its 40th anniversary.

The season will include:

+ “La Cage aux Folles” (Jan. 28-March 29), directed y David H. Bell.

+ “Anything Goes” (April 8-June 7)

+ “City of Angels” (June 10-Aug.9)

+ “October Sky” (Aug. 19-Oct.18): A new musical, written by the team behind “Hero,” and based on the Universal Pictures movie about a boy in a West Virginia town who is inspired by the 1957 launch of the Sputnik rocket, and makes his own way into the space race by building homemade rockets. (Based on a true story, the “kid” went on to work for NASA.) Rachel Rockwell (whose production of “Brigadoon” is now at the Goodman Theatre), will direct. And this show marks the first effort in a new partnership between the Marriott and Universal.

+ “Elf” (Oct. 21-Dec.27), directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, and starring Alex Goodrich, currently the charming Cat in the Hat in Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of “Seussical.”
