IHSA released water polo pairings

Fenwick’s boys water polo team earned the top seed at its own sectional over defending state champion Lyons in state playoff pairings released by the IHSA Friday.

The sectional features three teams ranked in illpolo.com’s Top 25 rankings with No. 1 Lyons, No. 3 Fenwick and No. 5 Oak Park-River Forest. Fourth-seeded Curie is ranked No. 25.

The top seeds in boys water polo are St. Ignatius at its own sectional, H-F at Lincoln-Way North, Stevenson at Mundelein, Naperville North at Neuqua Valley, New Trier at Glenbrook North, Conant at Fremd and Sandburg at Stagg.

The top seeds in girls water polo are St. Ignatius, Lincoln-Way Central, Mundelein, Naperville North, New Trier, Fenwick, Barrington and Mother McAuley.
