SHARE 7-year-old struck in head by rock in Fuller Park

A rock thrown at a vehicle by teens Tuesday night in the South Side Fuller Park neighborhood left a little boy seriously injured.

The 7-year-old boy was sitting in a vehicle with his family in the 1500 block of West 46th Street at 8:10 p.m. when three teenage boys walked up and started throwing objects at the vehicle, police said. 

A cement rock struck the boy in the head, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Police could not immediately say what the motive behind the attack was. No one has been charged.
