Man dies 10 days after River West crash

A 50-year-old man died Wednesday from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident 10 days earlier.

Travis Wicks was hurt in the crash that happened Dec. 21 in the 400 block of North Milwaukee, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Wicks was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:32 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, authorities said. He lived in the 500 block of North Fairbanks.

An autopsy on Friday found he died from complications of multiple injuries in a motor vehicle collision and his death was ruled an accident.

Further details weren’t available from police on Friday night. Authorities said it wasn’t clear whether a police report was filed in connection with the crash.
