A pedestrian had minor injuries after he was hit by a Metra train Thursday evening in north suburban Winnetka, officials said.
Union Pacific North line train no. 351 had left Chicago at 5:43 p.m. and had just passed the Indian Hill station at 6:15 p.m. when it struck the pedestrian, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.
A Winnetka fire captain said the male had only minor injuries but could not provide more details.
The train involved in the incident arrived in Waukegan was on the move by 6:51 p.m. and was running between 35 to 40 minutes behind, Metra said. Other trains in both directions were halted but were also moving again.
