Woman charged with Northbrook arson

A woman has been charged with arson after a house fire Monday in north suburban Northbrook.

The fire was reported about 5:47 p.m. at a house in the 3700 block of Pebble Beach Road, according to a statement from Northbrook police. Officers arrived with the fire department to see smoke coming from the second floor.

After an investigation, a 26-year-old woman who lives in the same block as the fire was arrested and charged with one felony count of residential arson, police said.

She was ordered held on a $75,000 bond and was expected to appear in court in Skokie on Friday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
